Russia turns down British and American submarine rescue offers. =
Reds ruin it for crew: barbarous, inhuman minds refuse assistance.

THE RUDE CATEGORY
Another close category this month with Richard G and Tom Myers battling
for the lead. The final result of a tie was a fair outcome.

Great, braless.

THE SPAM CATEGORY
The competition in alt.anagrams is so good these days that I am flat
out winning one category. Spam is often my saviour.

I'm imagining you building a small pink shrine in the corner of the room.

I APOLOGIZE TO ALL THAT RECIEVED MY COMMERCIAL POSTING YESTERDAY, I
TRULY MADE AN ERROR WITH MY POSTING SOFTWARE. IM SORRY =
Regret? O, I'm lying. I really meant to send it. I'm a low-life,
depraved, crazy spammer who scams, too. Priority? I try to get your
cash.

THE PEOPLE'S NAME CATEGORY
Richard G made a rash prediction to me that someone else would win this
category. I disagreed and I was right. This was the biggest winning
margin that I can recall seeing.

This will be a classic anagram.

Lev Nikolaevich Tolstoy =
O, it's a lovely thick novel!

----------------------------------------
THE OTHER NAME CATEGORY
A new name for this category. The man who has won this category more
than anyone else did it again. Tom had a comfortable win for his 3rd
Anagrammy this month, his 14th win in 2000 and 35th All Time.

THE ANAGRAM SET CATEGORY
1st. Richard Grantham with: 35 points
And with a blend of these four indivisible elements -
EARTH, both divine and life-fill'd, to imbue newnesses;
AIR's blow, undefined, not visible, that enmeshed life;
WATER, seem'd libation behind the fund of liveliness;
Blessed FIRE of the divine, now bated, still inhumane -
He made this oft-unbelievable world's infinite ends.

THE SPECIAL CATEGORY
If there was every any doubt about the fact that Richard is now King of
the Special Category, then this resolved it.

A few facts on Richard's Anagrammy performances. He had 7 wins this
month - a record for one month, 32 wins this year (and it is only
September) and a total of 37 wins in the All Time List, jumping him
past Tom Myers and within easy reach of Mey, Richard B and myself. I
had predicted (to myself) that it would take until the end of the year
for him to catch the leaders. It will happen sooner than that.

THE AWARDSMASTER'S CHOICE AWARD FOR THE BEST NON-WINNING ANAGRAM.
There were several worthy contenders here; Mey's Self-gratification,
Mike Keith's Count of Monte Cristo and Tom Myers' Gore.

However, it was one of Jan Burholt that caught my eye. I nominated
as it really touched me and I went for it again here.
Janet Burholt with:

I sigh: sadly, it's exit a screen genius.
