The Anagrammy Awards Rankings use a formula that rewards those who have won awards in the last 48 months, giving greater value to most recent awards, and then reduces the value of awards by 20% per year.
Thus, those showing consistent success in recent years and a high current level of involvement will be most highly ranked.
- 100% of the number of awards for X months of current year (X= number of competitions that year)
- 80% of the number of awards of last year
- 60% of the number of awards of the preceding year
- 40% of the number of awards of the preceding year
- 20% of the number of awards of 12-X months of the preceding year.
For example, at the end of March 2008, someone winning 2 awards in 2008, 3 awards in 2007, 1 award in 2006, 4 awards in 2005, and one award in February 2004, would score like this:
2*1 + 3*0.8 + 1*0.6 + 4*0.4 + 0*0.2 = 6.6
