How the Rankings work

The Anagrammy Awards Rankings use a formula that rewards those who have won awards in the last 4 to 5 years, giving greater value to most recent awards, and then reduces the value of awards by 20% per year.

Grand Anagrammy Awards are given double the value of the monthly awards.

Thus, those showing consistent success in recent years and a high current level of involvement will be most highly ranked.

Rankings are reset each January after the Grand Anagrammy Awards.

The ranking as calculated like this:

  • 100% of the number of awards for the current year
  • 80% of the preceding year
  • 60% of the year preceding that
  • 40% of the year preceding that
  • 20% of the year preceding that.
  • No points from years preceding that.

Grand Anagrammy Awards are calculated like this

  • 200% of the number of Grand awards for the most recent competition
  • 160% of the year preceding that
  • 120% of the year preceding that
  • 80% of the year preceding that
  • 40% of the year preceding that.
  • No points from years preceding that.
