Word lists

We have collected several word lists over the years that can be used with some anagram generators, including Anagrams 2.4 (for Macintosh), Anagram Genius V9 and Anagram Artist 3.0. Please consult the Help file with each program for instructions how to use your own word lists.

There are several files available to download for free. All are in lowercase.

Use Right Mouse Click, then "Save Target As":

• Approx 94,000 first names and surnames (1768K)
• Approx 158,000 common and rare words (1416K)
• Approx 106,000 more or less common words (851K)
• Approx 25,000 very common words (201K)
• Approx 10400 first names (73K)
• Approx 6900 girls' names (49K)
• Approx 4100 boys' names (28K)
• Approx 240 countries' names (2.5K)
• 113 chemical elements (1K)
